Community Relations
The Community Relations programs are designed in hopes of giving students the opportunity to give back to their community as well as instill a place for mcbUSA in the community. The Willard Middle School Tutoring/Mentoring Program gives students an opportunity to volunteer at the local middle school for grades 6-8. mcbUSA also plans on hosting a Shadow Day where various Bay Area high schools come to the campus for a day of tours, information sessions, and other events. This allows students to get a feel of our college atmosphere as well as gets students interested in the MCB major and/or other science majors at Berkeley.
If you are interested in volunteering at Willard Middle School, please email us at mcbusa@gmail.com. Contribute to the community and help make a difference!
Arrowsmith Academy Tutoring Opportunity
Bored of sitting in class all day? Looking for an opportunity to give back to the community? Want to make a difference in a student's life?
Come and join MCBUSA's Tutoring/Mentoring Program at Arrowsmith Academy, a college preparatory school for grades 9-12. The Academy is looking for tutors to mentor students in a variety of subjects, including Algebra, Spanish, English literature, Biology and more. There is also a need for a Korean speaking tutor. The school works with students of varied abilities, including accelerated students and some learning disabled students (i.e. ADD). There are no classes to take and no assignments to do. It only requires one hour a week! Arrowsmith is conveniently located right across the street from the RSF.
